The mission of the Hutto Economic Development Council is to facilitate new employment opportunities and capital investment in Hutto through the attraction, expansion and retention of commercial, manufacturing, and professional service businesses.
The vision of the Hutto Economic Development Corporation is to foster an environment that facilitates meaningful employment and diversified
capital investment resulting in Hutto being a desirable
and profitable business location.
The Hutto Economic Development Corporation will cultivate this vision by engaging in strategies and projects that:
> Attract and retain knowledge based employers that offer competitive wages and benefits;
> Expand and enhance the city’s infrastructure to successfully serve new development;
> Diversify the tax base to serve a growing population;
> Nurture existing Hutto business enterprises in their operations and growth;
> Close the gaps between Hutto’s pool of talent and the lack of local employment opportunities;
> Establish high standards for new development along SH130 to maximize the impact of new business
opportunities; and
> Aggressively promote a new image of Hutto—internally and externally—to be the leader in economic
development for the metropolitan region’s Northeast tier.
Our vision will be driven by creating opportunities for professional and business services, promoting the development of new office space, leveraging new economic assets, and strengthening Hutto’s linkages to higher education. Complimenting this, Hutto will also expand upon its existing base of amenities by promoting enhanced quality of life elements including higher end residential developments, embracing its agricultural heritage, and preserving and enhancing its downtown area.
