Water Supply

Sources of water in Central Texas are surface waters managed by the Lower Colorado River Authority, the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority, and the Brazos River Authority and ground waters from the Edwards Aquifer and the Trinity Aquifer. Regional planning groups assuring water sustainability and reliability in Central Texas are the South Central Texas Regional Water Planning Group, the Lower Colorado Regional Water Planning Group, and the Brazos Water Planning Group.

The city of Hutto has a secure water supply that is purchased from Heart of Texas, the City of Taylor and Manville to supply the needs of Hutto businesses and citizens. There are also several projects under construction to keep up with the demands of our growing city.

The City purchases water from three different sources:

  • Manville Water (ground water)
  • City of Taylor (surface water)
  • Heart of Texas (HOT - ground water)

Lift Stations

The City of Hutto owns and operates five lift stations that pump wastewater to gravity sewer mains or to the LCRA-owned treatment plant, operated by the Brazos River Authority. All lift stations have emergency and non-emergency creating around the clock assurance in case of emergencies.
