Hutto, Texas has made great strides in meeting the infrastructure needs of new business and residents. The City of Hutto purchased the 26 mile Heart of Texas water line that provides a large part of Hutto’s water from the Carrizo-Wilcox aquifer. In addition the City of Hutto has now owns its wastewater facilities and has purchased property for a new treatment facility as growth occurs.
Hutto, Texas is Conveniently Connected. Perhaps the most important infrastructure enhancement has been the opening of State Highway 130 in Hutto. As a key part in the Central Texas Turnpike System, State Highway 130 provides convenient access to the Austin region as well as important key markets such as Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, and San Antonio. Highway 79 continues to provide an important east-west thoroughfare. The extension of Chandler Road/University Avenue to Hutto provides access in less than 10 minutes to the new Texas A&M Health Science Center, Texas State University-Round Rock Higher Education Center, Austin Community College, and two new hospitals.
From a utility perspective, Hutto has exceptional infrastructure. Telecommunications providers such as CenturyLink and Time Warner Cable provide high speed electronic and voice communications. Oncor has major electric capacity in the Hutto area and can provide more than adequate electricity for any industrial or commercial need. Atmos Energy has a high pressure line in Hutto that can provide natural gas to large scale industrial users.
